Q: What made you want to become a photographer?

A:  It kind of just fell on my lap. I started using a GoPro with me on my travels and people started liking the pictures I took with it. So one day I bought a Sony A6000 and went out on a long road trip where I learned everything about photography. From there I fell in love with photography and take a camera with me everywhere I go now.

Q: How and why are you using Lume Cubes in your work?

A: I use them mostly to light up my foregrounds in night photography. I like how they spread the light wide and evenly compared to flashlights that I have used in the past.

Q: Who are you inspired by?

A: I love nature documentaries. Shows like Planet Earth get me super motivated to go out and shoot.

Q: If you weren’t a photographer? What would you be instead?

A: I’d love to be an outdoors guide

Q: You have done a ton of AMAZING outdoor and landscape work, have you ever considered doing a different type of photography?

A: I have done some portrait photography for friends and family, but outdoor photography is what I love doing the most.

Q: If you could only shoot with ONE lens-type for the rest of your life, which would it be? Fisheye, wide-angle, prime, zoom, macro, or a telephoto lens?

A: Definitely wide-angle since I mostly do landscape and astrophotography.

Q: What is your go-to camera?

A: Sony A6500

Q: Any advice for new photographers?

A: Practice makes perfect. Get out there and keep shooting. And don't over-edit your shots. Keep things as natural as you can.

Q: How do you keep your photos fresh and new?

A: I don't stick to one style. I go into every photo open-minded.

Q: What is the best part of your day?

A:  Waking up in a beautiful location.

Q: What’s your favorite photo you’ve taken and why?

A: It was a night shot at one of the arches you pass through near Bryce Canyon. It was a night shot where I was capturing the stars but also I waited for cars to come by so I could get the front of the arch lit up by the cars and at the same get the light trails of the car passing by.

Q: What is one thing that you plan to try this year for the first time? Why?

A:  Travel to a continent I have never traveled to before.

Q: What is your favorite thing about Photography?

A: Capturing epic moments I can always look back on.

Q: What is your least favorite thing about Photography?

A:  Carrying all my camera equipment with me on strenuous hikes.

Q: Where is the next place that you want to shoot with Lume Cubes at and how would you use the Cubes?

A: I would love to shoot in Iceland with Lume Cubes. Lighting up some foregrounds like the ice blocks at Diamond Beach would make for some epic shots.

Q: Describe your photography style in 5 words.

A: Inspiring Creative Epic Adventurous and Outdoorsy

Q: If you could go on an adventure-photography trip anywhere in the world with one other person… where would you go and who would you take (you don’t need to know the person… celebrities are fair game)?

A: I would love to go to Patagonia. So many beautiful amazing spots there to hike and shoot pictures of. I’d take one of my adventure friends.
