Where was this image taken?

This was taken in Crescent Bay in Laguna Beach, CA

How did you come up with the idea? Is this an idea you have been wanting to try?

I’ve been doing the halo shots for a little bit now and was just flying the drone in a circle when I asked my friend to stand under and use the Lumecubr to help light the area.

Let's talk about lighting! How did you use Lume Cube to light the scene?

I have a total of 3 Lume Cube 2.0s. 1 was attached to my drone. 2nd was being held by my friend and the 3rd was on the ground lighting up some foreground.

Can you share your camera and camera settings for this shot?

I use a Sony A7iii with a Tamron 17-28 f2.8. Focal length was 17mm, Exposure time was 13 seconds with and ISO of 800. I also used a Mavic Air 2s and set it to follow mode to create a perfect circle.

What has been the most rewarding part of your photography experiences?

The most rewarding part of my photography experience has been meeting so many other creative humans with talents that inspire me to continue doing what I do today.

What has been the most challenging?

I don’t know about other photographers but for me the most challenging part is getting those days where you lose the motivation to shoot and to be creative and finding a way to push pass that and getting back out there.

What is your post-process when it comes to editing?

After a day out shooting I usually take a little while to pick the best ones out of the day before importing them in Lightroom, and if I have footage I use Davinci Resolve.

Did this photo turn out how you initially envisioned it?

This photo wasn’t even supposed to happen. My friends and I showed up to get bioluminescence in the ocean but had no luck and that’s when we started experimenting with the cubes and this shot was one I didn’t think was going to come out but it turned out to be my favorite of the bunch.

Describe Lume Cube in 5 words or less.

A Light Saver (life saver)

Anything else you’d like to share about this shot or your experience with Lume Cube?

Lume Cube really has given me the opportunity to push my creativity and my imagination to another level whether it’s lighting up a scene for night shots or portraits or getting creative with the drone or the different color filters. Truly one of my favorite pieces of gear.
